Almonds are a large papershell nut that have a sweet flavour and are broad and oval in shape. Self pollinating variety that fruits early March. An upright growth habit and a reliable cropper. Almonds are high in fibre and nutrients, as well as being cholestrol free. Eat fresh or roasted. Harvest when the shell starts to split open. Plant in a warm, protected area in well drained soil. Make sure you plant the bud union above the soil. Water in well and keep moist until established. Fertilise when planting and again when new growth appears. prune when planting.
