This plant easily adapts to many conditions, place in a wide variety of light environments ranging from full sun through to moderate shade. This plant can also tolerate a wide range of soils, from free draining loams to heavier clay soils with good drainage. This plant is a low maintenance plant and requires little care due to being drought hardy. This also cold and humidity tolerant. Mulching is always beneficial. Best to feed this plant with a light fertiliser, particularly chelated or acidified iron. The plant can't be treated as a normal shrub when it comes to tidying the habit. Cut out the taller or unwanted stems from the base. Nandinas do not reshoot from the stems.
