The Sweet Gum (Liquidambar styraciflua) is a deciduous tall tree Native to North America that has an attractive corky bark and decorative maple-like leaves. In autumn, this tree creates brilliant autumn colours with hues of red, yellow, orange, and purple.

  • This plant thrives in open, sunny areas with moist, well-drained soils. It is frost tolerant, as well as moderate coastal tolerant. Plant within the autumn, winter and spring seasons.

    Fertilise in spring with a slow-release fertiliser. Mulch well to suppress weeds and conserve soil moisture.
