Viburnum odoratissimum also known as Sweet Viburnum, is an evergreen, medium to large shrub, of large, rich green, shiny leaves that are dense and leathery. In spring, large clusters of sweetly scented, tiny white blooms are produced, followed by red berries. A trendy plant due to its fast-growing habit. It is an ideal hedge or screening plant, as it will block out unsightly views, creating privacy. Sweet Viburnum is also suitable as a small specimen tree for smaller gardens—plant in an area of full sun to part shade with moist, well-drained soils. Once established, Viburnum tinus is low maintenance, frost tolerant and will tolerate various soils and conditions. Light pruning after flowering is beneficial. Apply mulch to help with soil moisture retention. Viburnum odoratissimum can grow to a height and width of 4 m.s.
